Mission & Solutions

Do you know how much trash impacts Climate Change?

According to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, "solid waste contributes directly to greenhouse gas emissions through the generation of methane from the anaerobic decay of waste in landfills, and the emission of nitrous oxide from our solid waste combustion facilities."  Sometimes, trash from landfills ends up in the oceans and wildlife habitats, killing marine and terrestrial life and polluting the environment. But, what if we could find another purpose for this trash?

What can we do about WASTE?

It has been said that one person's trash may be a valuable treasure to someone else.

Have you ever wondered what to do about those old cardboard boxes collecting dust in the corner, or those paper scraps, seed shells and broken home appliances?

Well, these materials can all be used to turn into something beautiful. Whether it is a sculpture, a painting, or something else, they can all be brought to life with everyday materials that might be considered trash. With this in mind, I hope to use art to bring attention to all the pollution and the trash crisis we have in landfills and oceans.

It all starts with a vision, lots of imagination, patience, and hard work. Anyone can do it.

Whether we know it or not, trash has a huge impact on our lives and the environment. It can both be a force of destruction or beauty. What we choose to do with it determines what trash becomes.

To all listening, remember, you’re not alone in this. Be inspired and help fight for our climate.

It takes an individual to start a movement and a community to carry it on.
