Title: Loving Vincent (2020)

​Materials used: sunflower seed shells

Description: The portrait “Loving Vincent” is based on Vincent van Gogh’s self-portraits. I recreated the artist’s visage with sunflower seed shells. Coincidentally, I realized this was the most appropriate way to honor Van Gogh by making him out of the very thing he loved. It also made me realize how we must protect nature since a great artist like Van Gogh loved it so much. We need nature and the environment to continue to inspire posterity.
